Hospitality

How to work in Count-IT with tables, floor plans, kitchen and bar tickets and split bills. You can read more about the hospitality till on our hospitality page.

How do I work with tables on the Count-IT till?

Switch on Tables and split receipt in the till settings. This activates the hospitality table and split functions. You place the table button and the correction button in the till’s action button layout yourself.

With Floor plans you decide which table or room layouts are available on the till. You ring up products on a table and put the receipt on hold; later you open the table again to add orders or check out. You can read more about the till for restaurants and cafés on the Hospitality page.

Can I show tables as a floor plan or as a list?

Yes. With Use floor plan you decide per table layout whether the graphical floor plan is always used, only on screens wider than 600 CSS pixels, or never. In the last case, and on a narrower screen with the middle option, the till shows a table list.

The table selection uses the full screen. In the graphical view, the name of each table scales automatically to the largest font size that fits inside the table button.

Can I require staff to choose a table?

Partly: you can make a table mandatory when a receipt is put on hold. With Table selection required you choose between not required and required only when putting on hold. Checking out directly and ringing up products before choosing a table later remain possible.

With Show table selection when opening till, the table selection opens automatically when the till starts and no table is selected. This pop-up does not force the employee to choose a table.

Can I see on a table what has already been ordered and what is new?

Yes, with order status badges. Set Show order status badges to Yes in the till settings; by default it is set to No.

On a selected table, the total quantity per product line stays in front. Compact badges next to it show which quantity had already been ordered, what has been newly added and what has been reduced as a correction.

How do I send orders to the kitchen or the bar?

In Count-IT, orders go to a printer in the kitchen or behind the bar, as a kitchen or bar ticket. On a product or product group, you tick the printer on which that product should be printed.

If you set the printer on the product group, it applies to all products in that group; you can change it per product. This way dishes go on the kitchen ticket and drinks on the bar ticket. With Number of receipt prints on the receipt printer, every receipt, including kitchen and bar tickets, is printed several times.

Can the table number appear on the receipt?

Yes. Receipts with a selected table show the table name. If you set Print “Table” before table number to Yes, normal till receipts, on-hold/table receipts and linked kitchen and bar tickets get the word “Table” before the full table name. By default this setting is No; receipts without a table stay unchanged.

With Show on table and the related permissions, the receipt list also shows a Table column, including for paid receipts.

How do I split the bill for a table?

With split receipt, you select only the products a guest wants to pay for before checking out; the rest stays open. Example: there are four coffees on the receipt and one guest pays for one coffee.

Switch on Tables and split receipt for this. If table selection is required when putting on hold, a table is only needed in advance when a remaining amount is put on hold again after the partial payment. If a guest wants to pay with several payment methods, use split payment.

Can I take over a table that is open on another device?

Yes. If a table is open on another device, the till reports that the table is currently open. After confirming, you can take over the table.

It is recommended to close the table on the other device first, so that the same receipt is not being worked on in two places at once.

How do I record a tip?

With the tip button on the till. Set Show tip button to Yes in the till settings; the Tip button then appears, with which you record a tip in the system.

In the financial settings, Tip payment method lets you choose through which payment route tips are booked. The tip function on the checkout screen only appears when that set-up exists.

How do I correct an order on a table?

Use the Correct on table button, which you place in the till’s action button layout. Then choose the table whose order you want to correct.

If order status badges are switched on, you see per product line which quantity has been reduced as a correction, next to what had already been ordered and what has been newly added.
