What is ERP, and what is a POS system with ERP?
ERP stands for Enterprise Resource Planning: software that brings a company’s core processes together in one system. Think of product management, stock, purchasing, sales orders, invoicing and customer management. The advantage is that every department works with the same data. A sale immediately lowers the stock, a received delivery raises it again, and an invoice is automatically linked to the right customer and order.
Traditional ERP packages are built for larger organisations and often require a long implementation. For SMEs that is usually too heavy, while a simple till with a stock counter is too little as soon as you have several locations, business customers or a web shop.
A POS with ERP functions
A POS system with ERP is a till in which the ERP processes are already built in. You do not need to connect a till to a separate ERP package: the receipt at the counter, the sales order for a business customer and the purchase order to your supplier are in the same system and use the same products, prices and stock. Count-IT runs in the browser and as an app, on any device. If the internet goes down, you can still do basic checkout at the till; receipts are synchronised later.
