Connect CCV to Count-IT

Count-IT connects to CCV payment terminals, so you take card payments and refunds from the till without keying in amounts.

In short

Count-IT sends the amount straight to your CCV terminal and processes the outcome in the sale, so there are no typing errors and your day closing adds up. Count-IT supports the CCV two-step and OPI protocols. Suitable for shops, hospitality businesses and concept stores with a CCV terminal.

CCV supplies payment solutions with a wide range of payment terminals. With the integration you work faster at the till: the amount no longer has to be entered on the terminal by hand.

How it works

At checkout you choose card payment. Count-IT sends the amount to the CCV terminal, the customer pays, and the result comes back to the till. The payment is then correct on the receipt and in the day closing straight away. You also start card refunds from the till.

Supported connections

Count-IT includes local support for CCV two-step and CCV OPI, as far as your terminal, licence and local software allow. You get the connection details from CCV; they belong to your terminal.

Combining card with other payment methods? Count-IT supports split payments, for example part cash and part card, within one transaction.

Synchronisation

What is synchronised?

This is the data Count-IT exchanges with CCV, and the direction in which it flows.

You choose which data types and directions you use for each integration. Pick one leading system per data type, so changes do not overwrite each other.

Setup

How to set it up

  1. Details from your supplier

You receive the connection and account details for your terminal from CCV or your payment service provider. These details belong to the terminal and should never be guessed.

  2. Add the terminal

Add the terminal under Settings › Hardware › Hardware and choose the right type and connection details.

  3. Link a payment method

Link the terminal to the card payment method, so the POS passes on the amount automatically.

  4. Make a test payment

Make a test payment with a small amount and check that it appears on the receipt and in the day closing.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about the CCV integration

Which CCV terminals work with Count-IT?

Count-IT supports the CCV two-step and OPI protocols, as far as terminal, licence and local software allow. If in doubt, ask us whether your terminal is suitable.

Do I still need to key the amount into the terminal?

No. Count-IT sends the amount to the terminal automatically and processes the outcome in the sale.

What should I do if the outcome of a card payment is unclear?

Do not simply start the payment again. First check the status in Count-IT and on the terminal or with CCV, so the customer is not charged twice.
