Connect SumUp to Count-IT

With the SumUp integration you send the amount from Count-IT to your SumUp terminal and the payment comes back to the till automatically.

In short

Count-IT starts the payment on your SumUp terminal and receives the payment status back, so you key in nothing and your day closing adds up. You connect your SumUp account and register the terminal in Count-IT. Suitable for shops, hospitality businesses and concept stores that take card payments with SumUp.

SumUp offers compact card readers for accepting debit, credit and contactless payments, without fixed monthly fees: you pay SumUp per transaction.

How it works

You connect Count-IT to your SumUp account and choose the merchant. Then you register the terminal in the POS hardware settings and link it to a payment method. At checkout, Count-IT sends the amount to the terminal; the customer pays and the outcome comes back into the sale.

You can set how often Count-IT checks the status with SumUp during a payment (the payment status interval). Leave the field empty and Count-IT uses the default.

Mobile and flexible

Because Count-IT runs in the browser and as an app, you can also take payments at a market, event or terrace with a tablet or phone and a SumUp terminal.

Synchronisation

What is synchronised?

This is the data Count-IT exchanges with SumUp, and the direction in which it flows.

Setup

How to set it up

  1. Add and connect the app

Add SumUp via Settings › Master data › App connector › Apps and enter the details you received from SumUp.

  2. Link the terminal

Under Settings › Hardware › Hardware, choose the SumUp app and then the terminal that belongs to the till.

  3. Set up the payment method

Link the terminal to a payment method, so the POS sends the amount to the terminal automatically at checkout.

  4. Make a test payment

Make a test payment with a small amount. If an outcome is ever unclear, check the status in Count-IT and with SumUp before you charge again.
